Clear Channel Radio Chicago is helping to RAISE A HAND ILLINOIS. Specifically, Clear Channel's V103 & WGCI and a personality from each of those stations. "Raise A Hand" is a grass roots effort throughout the month of February to enrich local schools by volunteering to make a difference there. It seeks to pass on inspiration to future generations by teaching & good deeds.
V103's Ramonski Luv wants you to volunteer with him three times. Ramonski Luv will be at Chicago's Ronald Brown Academy (12607 S. Union) this Saturday from Noon-3:00pm, doing some indoor & outdoor (weather permitting) painting and having fun with the volunteers. Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt, and have a chance to win tickets to see Jay Z in concert, along with other great prizes. Ramonski Luv will be doing it again two more time this month, too: Saturday, February 20th at the Jose de Diego Community Academy in Chicago, and Saturday, February 27th at the Rosenwald School in Chicago -- both from 9:00am-Noon. WGCI's Tony Sculfield is going to be part of this volunteer program, as well. On Thursday, February 18th from 1:00pm-4:00pm, Tony Sculfield will be leading a team of volunteers looking to make a difference by painting classrooms at the Bouchet Elementary Math and Science Academy (7355 S. Jeffery Blvd) in the South Shore neighborhood. Those looking to lend a helping hand on any of the above dates can do so by signing up at this link HERE. For those unable to physically lend a hand, there is still a way to "Raise A Hand" along with the Illinois Lottery. Anybody who submits $25 worth of current, non-winning Illinois Powerball tickets to the address below, will have that amount matched with a donation to the Illinois public school of the submitter's choice. Any Illinois Powerball Ticket purchased before February 28, 2010 qualifies.
