The Illinois Broadcasters Association Names 2012 Silver Dome Award Finalists

This week, the Illinois Broadcasters Association (IBA) announced the finalists for their annual Silver Dome Awards Contest. With the finalists now chosen, judges will listen & watch the entries to decide who gets the honor of being named "Best of State - 2012" in each category.

The IBA Silver Dome Awards are given out for broadcasting quality & excellence, but only for the entries the IBA receives, not for all work produced by all stations statewide. Entries are judged by out-of-state broadcasters.

The Silver Dome Awards are broken down between Radio and Television and then each are broken down between Large Market (Chicago market only), Medium Market (Bloomington-Normal, Champaign-Urbana, Decatur, Joliet, Marion-Carbondale, Peoria, Quad Cities, Quincy, Rockford, and Springfield), and Small Market (every other area in IL).

The finalists themselves entered their work to be judged, along with a fee. The competition is only open to IBA member stations. All of entries must have been produced and broadcast by stations between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011 only. Entries had to be received by the IBA by February 14th, 2012. The fee ($40 per entry for the Chicago market) goes to benefit the IBA's College Endowment and Minority Internship Programs.

Here are the 2012 IBA Silver Dome Finalists for the Chicago Market...
