Univision Radio Chicago has named Al Sanchez as Program Director/Content Director for WPPN-FM/Pasion 106.7. He was already working as the Program Director for WVIV-FM/WVIX-FM/Maxima 103.1 & 93.5, as well as being the midday personality on Maxima. He now adds the WPPN-FM responsibilities to his duties, effective immediately.
Sanchez will now oversee all on-air & digital aspects of Spanish Contemporary WPPN-FM and Spanish CHR WVIV-FM/WVIX-FM. He has been with Univision Radio Chicago since December 2009. Sanchez first joined Univision Radio in September 2007, when he was then named Program Director of KLLE-FM in the Fresno, CA area.
Prior to joining Univision in 2007, Al Sanchez was PD/midday talent at WTLQ-FM in Fort Myers, FL for five years. Before that, he held on-air roles and radio production jobs in Orlando, FL and Puerto Rico. In all, he has worked in radio nearly 18 years.
Al Sanchez takes over in the programming role which was
recently vacated by Cesar Canales, who was promoted from Univision Radio's Chicago cluster Operations Manager to the new Vice President/General Manager for Univision Radio's Dallas cluster of stations.
Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Al Sanchez, 33, and his family now reside in Chicago.
