WBBM-TV/CBS 2 Chicago has hired a new general assignment reporter to boost up its news staff. Beginning October 15th, Chris Martinez jumps up from the Tampa/St. Petersburg market to the Chicago market.
Martinez has worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor for Tampa, FL's WFTS-TV since 2003. Prior to that, he worked for three years as a reporter and fill-in anchor at the Orlando, FL cable news station, Central Florida News 13. Martinez began his broadcast career in 1999 at WCTV-TV in Tallahassee, FL.
Martinez is a graduate of Florida State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and Political Science.
Jeff Kiernan, Vice President and News Director of WBBM-TV, made the announcement of Martinez's hire this morning.
