The Chicago Bears will have their regular season games shown on many networks this season: 10 games on FOX, 2 games each on CBS & ESPN, and 1 game each on NBC & NFLN. None of them will be shown on Comcast SportsNet. However, a little detail like that is not going to stop that channel from attempting to become Chicago's Bears' television headquarters! Comcast SportsNet is preparing to cover Chicago's favorite team and the NFL in numerous ways beginning this month.
CSN will air the "U.S. Cellular Bears Post Game Live" show following every Bears game. (Some will air immediately after the end of the game, while some may be staggered slightly later due to baseball commitments for the next few weeks.) The show will be hosted by Pat Boyle. Joining him will be a new team of expert analysts, including former Bears quarterback Jim Miller, former Bears offensive lineman Dan Jiggetts, and Howard Griffith -- the former University of Illinois record holding running back/fullback, two-time Super Bowl Champion (with the Denver Broncos), WMVP-AM contributor and Chicago native. The live, 90-minute post-game show will also feature post-game press conferences with coaches and players from both teams, along with post-game player interviews by Kip Lewis and John "Moon" Mullin. Along with the airing of the program after the end of a Bears' game, the program will be re-played on Sunday nights and Monday afternoons. The premiere episode will be approximately 4:00pm, following the Bears' season premiere game on September 12th. Beginning next Monday, September 6th, CSN will air "United Bears Recap," hosted by Lou Canellis and Dan Jiggetts. "Bears Recap" will go to Halas Hall each week the official team press conference, hear from the Bears head coach Lovie Smith, along with additional Bears players/coaches interviews. Once the season is underway, the show will also air game highlights from the week before. The one hour program will air from 4:30pm-5:30pm each Monday throughout the Bears season. Every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon at 4:40pm, "Bears Blitz" will take in depth look at the next Bears game and of the team's opponent for that week. The one hour show will again be hosted by Lou Canellis and Dan Jiggetts, with player & coach interviews provided by Kip Lewis. The first show will be on September 8th. "Countdown To Kickoff" is another CSN program that analyzes the upcoming Bears contest. The program is hosted by Pat Boyule, who is joined by Bears Super Bowl Champ & WBBM-AM Bears analyst Tom Thayer and current Bears Pro Bowler Lance Briggs. The half hour program will look at the upcoming game and also look at some the key plays from the previous game. The season premiere of "Countdown to Kickoff" will be Thursday, September 9th at 11:00pm. The program will air each Thursday night at that time throughout the Bears season, with repeats being shown on Friday afternoons at 4:30pm. Yet another CSM Bears program is the brand new "Chicago Huddle." This program is hosted by Dan Jiggetts, who is joined by Bears linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer, Bears defensive tackle Anthony Adams, former Loop Rock Girl/model/actress/media personality April Rose. The show will be a more fun preview of the game coming up. "Chicago Huddle" will air Sunday mornings at 9:30am, beginning on September 19th. Repeats of the program will happen throughout the week at various times. "Pro Football Weekly" makes its season premiere this Friday, September 3rd. It marks its 23rd season on television this year. The half-hour program is hosted by Pat Boyle, who is joined by a true panel of experts: NFL Hall of Famer & WSCR contributor Dan Hampton, former Bears great & WMVP host Tom Waddle, and Pro Football Weekly Magazine Publisher & Editor Hub Arkush. While the show will discuss the Chicago Bears, its focus will be on thorough coverage of the entire NFL. The program will air each Friday at 5:00pm throughout the entire football regular & post season, with repeats on Sunday mornings at 9:00am and at various times on Saturdays. "Profiles with Laura Okmin" is a 30 minute weekly show that will air at various times each week. Laura Okmin, the Fox Sports Network host, will take a look into the private lives of varying NFL stars each week. The first episode will air on Wednesday, September 8th at 11:00pm. Fans should check their local television guides or CSNChicago.com for future air dates & times. Of course, in addition to all of the above, Comcast SportsNet still has their two daily shows: "SportsNite" and "Chicago Tribune Live." The team of anchors & reports on "SportsNite" will have all of the latest Bears & NFL updates each night at 6:30pm, 10:00pm, and 10:30pm. "Chicago Tribune Live" airs each weeknight at 5:30pm. Host David Kaplan will have a rotating panel of football experts with him breaking down the day's Bears news, as well as reviews & previews of NFL games. If that wasn't enough, CSNChicago.com will have 24/7 Bears coverage all season long with Bears "Insider" John "Moon" Mullin, Pat Boyle's weekly player interview, "15 on 6" - the Bears QB Blog by Jim Miller, additional talent blogs, live streaming of press conferences, live game-day scoreboard, fan message boards, and many online video features. ![]()
